Frozen Yogurt Fruit Pops

Calling all beginner cooks! These frozen yogurt pops can be made without the use of knives, heat, or special tools. All you need are some basic kitchen tools and a freezer! This is a great introductory recipe that teaches measuring, mashing, and mixing for every age and ability to get started in the kitchen. Bonus: it’s both healthy and tasty!

By the way, in the video we say, that they won’t pop right out of the plastic cup like an ice cube tray, but they did! When ready to enjoy, you can take them out of the freezer and let them sit on the counter for a few minutes and then squeeze the cups to “pop” them out of the cup.

If you don’t have popsicle sticks, you can freeze the yogurt pops in cups and eat them with a spoon after freezing.

Frozen Yogurt Fruit Pops Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 ounces raspberries

  • 6 ounces blueberries

  • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1/4 cup agave or honey

  • Milk of your choice (optional)

Supplies:

  • Large bowl

  • Masher or fork

  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • Spoons for scooping ingredients

  • Rubber spatula or mixing spoon

  • Plastic or paper cups or popsicle molds

  • Popsicle sticks (optional)

  • Liquid measuring cup (optional for easier pouring)

Directions:

  1. Mash raspberries and blueberries in a large bowl.

  2. Add 2 cups of yogurt.

  3. Add 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  4. Add 1/4 cup honey.

  5. Use a rubber spatula or spoon to mix ingredients until combined.

  6. If your mixture looks a little thick, thin it out a bit with milk of choice (1-2 tablespoons to start). Add more milk if needed to reach your desired consistency.

  7. Pour mixture into a liquid measuring cup with a spout for easier pouring.

  8. Then pour evenly into cups or molds (makes about 6-8).

  9. If using, insert a popsicle stick into the cup. You can freeze without a popsicle stick and eat the pops with a spoon. If the mixture isn't thick enough to hold the popsicle stick, freeze for 30 minutes and then insert the popsicle stick.

  10. Freeze for 4-6 hours total or overnight.
